Films in Peel start their summer season on Wednesday 11th April with an outstanding piece of cinema from Iran, A Separation (cert PG13). This highly acclaimed film has won an amazing 47 awards, including the 2012 Oscar for best foreign language film. Directed by Iranian filmmaker Asghar Fahadi, this film tells the tale of an Iranian couple with a tough decision to make. Simin wants the family to live abroad to better the chances in life for their only daughter, but her husband insists on staying in Iran to take care of his father, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.
