Films in Peel, the Island’s only local, community based cinema, is putting on romance/drama Never Let Me Go (cert 12A) on Wednesday 12th October. Based on the novel by British based writer, Kazuo Ishiguro, this story tells the tale of three friends, Kathy (Carey Mulligan), Ruth (Keira Knightley) and Tommy (Andrew Garfield). Their sheltered life in Hailsham, an English boarding school, dominates their existence until they are old enough to leave and step out into the world outside its doors. The narration is by a 28 year old Kathy who thinks sadly back to their seemingly idyllic existence which is cruelly shattered by the dark reason for their existence. An unusual and unexpected storyline, this movie is one not to miss.
